Mother’s Tongue is the title of a collaborative work by artist Lap-See Lam (Stockholm, b.1990)

and film writer and director Wingyee Wu (Stockholm b.1976).

The video work, set against fragmented and digitally manipulated 3D scans of real life locations,

takes viewers through time and place, in a fictional story of three restaurant workers of the

Chinese diaspora. The story is guided by a voice from the future, belonging to the

consciousness of the Restaurant.

For this exhibition, they present the video with a new installation alongside Lam’s sculptures.
